Making of a Male Model (Mini-Series)

Joan Collins stars as Kay Dillon, a Big Apple street-smarts modeling agency boss who guides a young hunk she plucked from backwoods in his quest for fame and fortune in the male-sexpot business, with a few side trips to her bed. The 2-hour made-for-TV movie premiered on ABC on Sunday, October 9, 1983 at 9pm. The movie generated high ratings for the network, tying for 4th place with "Dynasty" for the week of October 3-9. The movie aired a year before Jon-Erik Hexum's tragic accident on the set of his 1984 CBS drama "Cover-Up." The actor may have lived had he joined the cast of "Dynasty" instead (he was tested for the role of Dex Dexter in late August 1983, but wasn't selected).
